We like to think of ourselves as "Jack of all trades" - the expertise we have in company and with associates means we can provide a broad range of services under the banner of IT.

Where possible we try and use open source tools and resources for a number of reasons. They are effectively free for use in our developments but more importantly free for use for the small and medium sized business we serve - which can often make a big difference in cost. In addition, the family of support that grows up around open source resources means an effective support structure and ongoing help and assistance when needed - often more effective than proprietary software support which is more often than not paid for!
So what do we recommend?
- Websites - Apache web server, MySQL database and PHP development language. Usually we develop for both Windows and Linux operating systems to ensure compatibility.
- Database - MySQL provides an excellent and robust free database solution equal to many expensive packages
- Hosting - Linux is our preferred platform as not only is it a more secure operating system but cheaper when it comes to pay the hosting bill!
Whilst the open source route is our preferred route, we are conversant with all the Microsoft technologies and happy to develop using ASP, SQL Server, Access etc. In the end, the platform and underlying technology is not the important choice - an effective solution to a problem for a reasonable cost is our goal!
